Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under ten are give a value of face value while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they only act as the 2 hands to be given out).
Two hands of 2 cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for every hand will be the sum total of the two cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of 7 and 5 produces a value of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A third card could be given depending on the following protocols:
- If the gambler or banker has a total of eight or 9, both gamblers stand.
- If the bettor has five or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the player hits, a chart might be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay at nineteen to twenty (even odds less a five percent commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have $$$$$ left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie typically pay eight to one but on occasion nine to one. (This is a crazy wager as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try placing bets on a tie. Nevertheless odds are substantially better – nine to one versus eight to one)
Played properly, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, away from the tie bet ofcourse.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. 1 of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an indicator of future outcomes. Keeping track of last conclusions on a chart is undoubtedly a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most popular and possibly most successful technique is the 1-3-2-6 method. This technique is deployed to build up wins and controlling risk.
Begin by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth bet.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
