Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards that are valued less than 10 are of their printed number while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they just portray the two hands to be played).

2 hands of two cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for each hand is the sum total of the two cards, but the very first digit is removed. For example, a hand of seven as well as five will have a value of 2 (7plus5=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be played depending on the foll. guidelines:

- If the gambler or banker has a tally of 8 or 9, the two bettors stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Victorious bets on the banker pay out nineteen to twenty (even odds less a five % commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so make sure to have dollars left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie customarily pay eight to 1 and on occasion nine to 1. (This is an awful bet as ties occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Definitely don’t try betting on a tie. However odds are vastly better – 9 to one vs. eight to one)

When played properly, baccarat provides generally decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is surely not an indicator of future happenings. Tracking of historic conclusions on a chart is simply a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and almost certainly most successful strategy is the one-3-two-six concept. This method is used to amplify successes and reducing risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the 4th bet.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Winning all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Thus you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
