Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below a value of 10 are said to be worth their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they only act as the 2 hands to be played).

2 hands of two cards shall then be dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for any hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven … 5 gives a total score of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card may be given depending on the foll. rules:

- If the bettor or banker has a score of eight or 9, each gamblers stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores wins. Victorious bets on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money less a five % commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so be sure to have dollars left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie as a rule pays out at eight to one and occasionally nine to 1. (This is an awful bet as ties will occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Run away from putting money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are significantly better – 9 to one vs. 8 to one)

Played accurately, baccarat offers pretty decent odds, away from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with many games, Baccarat has some common misunderstandings. 1 of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is surely not an indicator of future outcomes. Tracking of prior results on a chart is simply a waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and probably most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-6 concept. This scheme is employed to accentuate earnings and lowering risk.

Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second will create a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. This means that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
