Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards that are valued less than 10 are give a value of their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they merely represent the two hands to be played).

2 hands of two cards will now be dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for every hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is removed. For example, a hand of 7 … five results in a tally of two (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be dealt depending on the following practices:

- If the bettor or banker has a total score of 8 or 9, the two players stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores is the winner. Successful bets on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even money less a 5 percent commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure that you have cash remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie as a rule pays 8 to one but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is a crazy bet as ties will occur less than 1 every ten hands. Avoid wagering on a tie. Regardless odds are considerably better – nine to 1 versus 8 to one)

Played properly, baccarat offers generally good odds, aside from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with many games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is surely not a predictor of future results. Monitoring of prior results on a chart is definitely a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most popular and probably most successful tactic is the 1-three-2-6 technique. This process is used to increase winnings and lowering risk.

commence by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth gamble.

If you lose on the 1st bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus that you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
