Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards valued less than 10 are give a value of face value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they only portray the 2 hands to be played).
Two hands of two cards are then played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand is the grand total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven … 5 will have a value of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).
A third card could be given out depending on the foll. practices:
- If the gambler or banker has a score of 8 or nine, then both players stand.
- If the gambler has five or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the player hits, a chart might be used to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores wins. Successful wagers on the banker pay out nineteen to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so be sure to have funds left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie usually pay eight to one but occasionally nine to 1. (This is an awful wager as ties occur lower than one every ten hands. be cautious of putting money on a tie. Still, odds are noticeably better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to one)
When done accurately, baccarat presents pretty decent odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.
Baccarat Strategy
As with many games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not a predictor of future results. Staying abreast of previous results on a chart is undoubtedly a complete waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most common and possibly most successful method is the 1-three-2-6 technique. This scheme is employed to maximize payouts and controlling risk.
Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth bet.
If you don’t win on the first bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Winning at all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
