Baccarat Policies
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued less than 10 are worth their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they strictly symbolize the 2 hands to be given out).
Two hands of 2 cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven and five produces a score of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card can be dealt depending on the following standards:
- If the gambler or banker has a score of eight or 9, the two gamblers stand.
- If the player has 5 or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the player hits, a chart is used to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the two scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker payout nineteen to 20 (even odds minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have $$$$$ left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie commonly pay out eight to 1 but on occasion 9 to one. (This is a bad gamble as ties will occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Stay away from betting on a tie. Nonetheless odds are appreciably better – 9 to one vs. eight to one)
When played correctly, baccarat provides fairly good odds, away from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future events. Monitoring of old outcomes on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most established and possibly most successful strategy is the one-three-two-6 technique. This process is employed to increase payouts and lowering risk.
Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the third bet, add two to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th bet.
If you lose on the first bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
