Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than ten are counted at their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they merely appear as the two hands to be given out).
2 hands of two cards shall then be dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for any hand shall be the sum of the two cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. For example, a hand of 7 and 5 gives a tally of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).
A third card may be given depending on the following guidelines:
- If the player or banker has a tally of eight or nine, then both gamblers stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious stakes on the banker pay nineteen to twenty (even odds less a five % commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure that you have money left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie normally pays out at eight to one and occasionally 9 to 1. (This is not a good wager as ties happen less than one every 10 hands. be wary of wagering on a tie. Regardless odds are decidedly better – 9 to 1 versus 8 to one)
When played correctly, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with many games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an indicator of future events. Tracking of previous results on a chart is simply a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most established and almost certainly most successful tactic is the 1-three-2-6 scheme. This method is deployed to amplify payout and cutting back risk.
start by betting one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth bet.
If you don’t win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second causes a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
