Punto Banco Regulations and Strategy
Baccarat Banque Rules
Baccarat is bet on with 8 decks in a shoe. Cards below 10 are worth their printed value while at the same time Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is one. Bets are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not actual people; they just represent the 2 hands that are dealt).
Two cards are dealt to both the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The value for every hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 5 and six has a value of one (five plus six equals eleven; drop the first ‘one’).
A third card might be given depending on the rules below:
- If the gambler or banker has a value of 8 or 9, both players stay.
- If the player has less than five, she takes a card. Players otherwise stand.
- If the player holds, the bank hits on five or less. If the gambler hits, a table is employed to determine if the banker stays or hits.
Punto Banco Odds
The higher of the two totals wins. Winning wagers on the house pay out 19:20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission are kept track of and paid off once you quit the table so make sure you have funds left over just before you head out). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning wagers for a tie typically pays out at 8:1 but sometimes nine to one. (This is a awful wager as ties happen less than one in every ten hands. Be wary of putting money on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 versus 8:1)
Wagered on correctly baccarat chemin de fer offers relatively good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Punto Banco Method
As with all games punto banco has a few general misconceptions. One of which is close to a myth in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of future events. Recording past results on a chart is a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that surrendered its life for our stationary desires.
The most common and definitely the most acknowledged course of action is the one, three, two, six tactic. This technique is deployed to pump up profits and limit risk.
Start by placing one unit. If you succeed, add another to the two on the game table for a sum total of 3 dollars on the second bet. If you succeed you will hold 6 on the game table, remove four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you come away with a win on the third wager, put down two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the fourth bet.
If you don’t win on the first wager, you take a hit of one. A win on the initial round followed by a loss on the second brings about a hit of two. Success on the initial 2 with a hit on the third provides you with a gain of two. And wins on the 1st three with a hit on the 4th means you experience no loss. Winning at all 4 bets leaves you with twelve, a gain of ten. This means you are able to not win on the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful run of four wagers and still break even.
