Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are of their printed number while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they just act as the 2 hands to be played).

2 hands of 2 cards will now be dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand will be the sum total of the two cards, but the initial digit is removed. For example, a hand of seven as well as five produces a total of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be played depending on the foll. rules:

- If the player or banker has a total score of 8 or nine, both gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious stakes on the banker payout nineteen to twenty (even money less a 5 percent commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so be sure to have $$$$$ left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie generally pays 8 to one but sometimes nine to one. (This is a terrible gamble as ties will occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try putting money on a tie. Still, odds are positively better – nine to 1 versus 8 to 1)

When done accurately, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, away from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way a predictor of future outcomes. Keeping track of last results on a chart is a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and probably most successful strategy is the 1-three-two-6 technique. This method is used to build up payout and lowering risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove 4 so you have two on the third bet. If you win the third gamble, add two to the four on the table for a value of six on the 4th gamble.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. A win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
