Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are of their printed value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they merely represent the two hands to be played).
Two hands of two cards shall then be given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for every hand will be the grand total of the two cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For example, a hand of 7 … five results in a total score of 2 (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card could be given out depending on the foll. standards:
- If the bettor or banker has a value of eight or 9, each players stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used in order to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay at nineteen to twenty (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have funds left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie customarily pay 8 to one but occasionally nine to 1. (This is an awful gamble as ties happen less than one every ten hands. Run away from laying money on a tie. However odds are greatly better – nine to one versus eight to 1)
When played smartly, baccarat offers relatively good odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.
Baccarat Strategy
As with every games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future actions. Keeping track of prior results on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most commonly used and probably most successful technique is the 1-three-2-6 technique. This technique is used to accentuate winnings and minimizing risk.
start by wagering one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the third wager, add two to the four on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th gamble.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
